FREEDOM BAPTIST CHURCH

Church Items
The prayer requests are on the back of the bulletin now. We also have included the prayer chain people and the way to send a request down the chain.
We want to update our church directory to include e-mail addresses for all of you who have e-mail. Please review the directories on the back table and make any needed changes and include your e-mail address. Leave the corrected copy on the back table or on the desk in the office. We assure you that this information will be protected and will only be for those people who attend our fellowship.
There is also a birthday and anniversary list on the back table. If we do not have the correct date put it on the list.
January Birthdays: Richard Motzkus, 4th; Calieb Griffith, 4th; Doris Tucker, 7th; Ed Griffith, 8th; Maria Campeau, 13th; Britanie Olsen, 14th; Carolyn Griffith, 21st
January Anniversaries: Carlton and Emma, 11th
Our 20th anniversary as a church is upon us: the first meeting of 4 families took place January 31, 1988, which resulted in the birth of this church. We will plan a day of fellowship to celebrate this occasion soon.
The Sarah Corner – “And Sarah laughed”
The Dog Ate It; A minister delivered a sermon in ten minutes one Sunday morning. That was about half the usual length of his sermons. He explained, "I regret to inform you that my dog, who is very fond of eating paper, ate that portion of my sermon which I was unable to deliver this morning." After the service, a visitor from another church shook hands with the preacher as he was leaving, and said, "Sir, if that dog of yours has any pups, I sure would like to get one to give to my minister!"

New Testament Postcard - I John 3:16-24, Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
Today’s Sermon
I Corinthians 13:8-13 and chapter 14, It’s About the Church, not the Gifts. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. It is clear that Paul is saying that the miracle gifts were temporary and not needed as a Christian grows to maturity.
WORSHIP SERVICE
Scripture Reading
Ho, every one that thirsts, come to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat. Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call upon him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:1, 6-7
