Today’s Sunday School Lesson
The Book of Revelation: Revelation 11
The Two Witnesses
John is given a “reed” and told to measure the temple, the altar and those that worshipped there. There will be a new temple constructed in Jerusalem at the beginning of the Tribulation period.
The specific time period of 42 months is given here, 3½ years. The event of the Gentiles dominating Jerusalem seems to occur in the last 3½ years of a general 7-year time period.
This chapter introduces the Two Witnesses, their ministry, and their martyrdom in Jerusalem.

The Truth Shall Set You Free

Today’s Sermon
Ephesians Series: 6:1-9
Wisdom at Home and at Work
A life filled with the Spirit (5:18) is a wise life in submission illustrated by the relationship of husband and wife. Husband and wife are a picture of Christ’s love for the church in submission and self-sacrifice. This metaphor continues in the teaching of wisdom at home and at work in the role of father-child and master-slave.
The issue of slavery and Christianity is a volatile one today, but the slavery that Paul was referring to referred to the Christian master with the Christian owner. Those hostile to Christianity today should be careful about criticizing the Bible because it does not condemn slavery while they sponsor and promote the death of millions of the unborn. They do not have the moral authority to criticize.

Scripture Reading
I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD. I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. Ezek. 34:15-16; John 10:11
