Happy New Year
Church Items:
We are thankful to Ron Campeau in getting our church website running to include podcasts of our Sunday morning sermons. Our church weblog (hereafter known as our “blog”) is http://fbccos.blogspot.com. We also have a church email address now: fbccos@gmail.com. You can also email the pastor; his email address is on the front cover (and has been for many years). Ron has worked very hard on this and we are grateful for his labor. Ron, Maria and Jon all work together to get the Sunday morning services recorded and onto CD for distribution to Owen Frisby, Jennifer Tucker in Alaska, Irene Smitheran (Greg’s Mom) in Missouri, and to Mary Souza (Ruth’s sister) in Hawaii. Their work is invaluable in keeping us moving forward and has an impact on people literally in far off places. The blog will continue to improve and grow as we add more information and detail regarding the church. For a little church that no one knows about (and this is not a good thing), this is an important thing that Ron has done.
Prayer Requests:
Joy, prayer for recuperation/healing; Carol’s neighbor Eleanor, medical; Ellie, friend of Bertie, medical; Co-worker of Lisa, lost infant child; Ron’s Dad, Dan, health; Lynn to raise grandson James, and medical; Carolyn’s great nephew, accident; Mike and Lynn Tucker, Terry and Doris Tucker, loss of Tabatha ; Ron Campeau traveling for work Tuesday, gone one month

A jeweler standing behind the counter of his shop after hours was astounded to see a man come hurling headfirst through the window. "What on earth are you up to? What just happened?" he demanded. "I'm terribly sorry," said the man, "I forgot to let go of the brick."

FREEDOM BAPTIST CHURCH
December 24, 2006
Church Items:
It is our hope and prayer that you have a blessed Christmas Day tomorrow and that you celebrate with us in worshiping the birth of Christ on this Christmas Eve.
Terry and Doris and the entire Tucker family thank the church for their kindness and generosity during their time of bereavement.
Christmas Quotes:
Jesus is “the One, the calling, before all answering love.” If we remember Him this Christmas season, we will respond with “hope, fear, and boundless desire” to worship Him. “Bland, insipid, and pedestrian worship” is to have no place when remembering the Messiah’s coming. (George McDonald)
In A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens told us the story of the miser Scrooge and his regrets at being shown his failures by the Ghost of Christmas Past. While Charles Dickens didn't explain salvation and forgiveness to us in his Christmas story, God clearly explains it in His. At Bethlehem, more than 2,000 years ago, a Savior was born who came into the world not to reform us, but to regenerate us; not to make us better, but to make us new; and not to shame us, but to save and sanctify us. The Bible's Christmas story is what separates Christianity from every other religion in the world. It is the story of God doing for man what man could never do for himself: remove the burden of past, present, and future sins. (David Jeremiah)
Prayer Requests:
Joy, prayer for recuperation/healing; Carol’s neighbor Eleanor, medical; Ellie, friend of Bertie, medical; Co-worker of Lisa, lost infant child; Ron’s Dad, Dan, health; Lynn to raise grandson James, and medical; Carolyn’s great nephew, accident; Mike and Lynn Tucker, the passing of their daughter Tabitha Tucker, Terry & Doris’ granddaughter

Church Items:
Our prayers of comfort go out to Terry and Doris Tucker for the loss of their granddaughter, Tabitha Tucker, this past Friday. We pray for the parents, Mike, Lynn and kids, also. Tabitha was 17 years old.
We will enjoy our Church Christmas worship and fellowship tonight at 5:30pm. Bring your favorite potluck dishes and we will rejoice in worship and enjoy each other’s fellowship afterwards.
Our thanks to Carlton and his “elfin helpers” for the installation of new whiteboards in the office and Ruth’s classroom.
Sarah's Corner – “And Sarah laughed”
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid December. Female reindeer retain their antlers until after they give birth in the spring. Therefore, according to every historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, every single one of them, from Rudolf to Blitzen........had to be a girl.
We should've known when they were able to find their way and not get lost.

Church Items:
Our Christmas fellowship/potluck/celebration will be next Sunday evening December 17 at 5:30pm. This will be an informal time of worship and celebration together as a church family.
Sarah's Corner – “And Sarah laughed”
One evening a preschooler, Krystal, and her parents were sitting on the couch chatting. Krystal asked, " Daddy, you're the boss of the house, right?"
Her father proudly replied, "Yes, I am the boss of the house."
But Krystal quickly burst his bubble when she added "Cause Mommy put you in charge, huh Daddy?"
Christmas Quotes:
The gentle Lamb of God who lay in Mary’s arms and who hung limply on the cross will become the Lion of heaven – parting the clouds, calling His people home, and returning to earth as judge. That is the true story of Christmas. The Advent season is not just a commemoration of the past, it’s a celebration for today and a hope for the future. Indeed, Christmas is a promise of salvation and glory we can cherish all year long. (Charles Swindoll)
“He was the God-man; not God indwelling a man. Of such there have been many. Not a man deified. Of such there have been none save in the myths of pagan systems of thought; but God and man, combining in one Personality the two natures, a perpetual enigma and mystery, baffling the possibility of explanation.” (G. Campbell Morgan)
What was it like for infinite God to take on a human body? “The Eternal Being who knows everything and who created the whole universe, became not only a man but (before that) a baby, and before that a fetus inside a woman’s body. If you want to get the hang of it, think how you would like to become a slug or a crab.” (C. S. Lewis)”
Prayer Requests:
Bertie’s daughter Patty for her brother in law Bill; Older brother-in-law of Patty, severe medical; Darrel’s friend in North Carolina, granddaughter sickness; Carol’s mom, strength to help a homeless person; Joy, medical condition, prayer for recuperation/healing; a teacher friend of Joy’s granddaughter Melody, for her baby; Praise for Leon’s niece Candy, doing OK; Praise for Leon’s relative David, OK and back to work; Carol’s neighbor Eleanor, medical; Ellie, friend of Bertie, medical; Co-worker of Lisa, lost infant child; Matt’s friend at work, Don, mother passed away; Ron’s Dad, Dan, health; Lynn to raise grandson James, and medical; Carolyn’s great nephew, accident

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 100

• Well, how 'bout that? I'm lost! Looks like we'll have to stop and ask for directions
• You know Pumpkin, now that you're thirteen, you'll be ready for unchaperoned car dates. Won't that be fun?
• I noticed that all your friends have a certain hostile attitude. I like that.
• Here's a credit card and the keys to my new car. GO CRAZY!!
• Your mother and I are going away for the weekend. You might want to consider throwing a party.

What the Bible Says about Homosexuality – Lesson #2
Romans 1:26-31 - Interpreting the Scriptures correctly regarding homosexuality
God does not condemn homosexuality in the Bible in an arbitrary and capricious fashion. He tells us why it is a sin and why it is forbidden. He is not a cosmic killjoy - if He says something is wrong, it is for our good. He says these things because He loves us.

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean house.
3. To help us out of there when were getting born.
What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.
