FREEDOM BAPTIST CHURCH
January 7, 2007
Church Items:
We are now entering the third year of our lease on this building. The current lease amount is $1487.00 per month. At the end of this year we will face the choice of a new lease that will be far more costly than the original lease we signed back in 1999. Please be aware of this and be in constant prayer for our church as we reach this milestone and evaluate our future through the year.
Prayer Requests:
As we begin the New Year we will start fresh on our prayer request list. Be in prayer for: Ron Campeau, traveling for work, gone one month; our missionaries, Marshall Craig, Larry Morgan, and Ed Potter; our church and blessings for this year

Factory Supplies
At the end of my factory shift, I was asked to purchase some supplies. The machines' conveyor belts needed talcum powder to prevent them from sticking, and we had run out of aspirin for workers with noise induced tension headaches. I drove to the nearest store and loaded a shopping cart with four cases of baby powder and several boxes of aspirin. As the man behind me in the checkout line peered at my purchases, he laughed and exclaimed, "I'm glad that's your baby and not mine!"
Today’s Sunday School Lesson:
The Life of David
David’s Flight from Absalom II Samuel 16 and 17
The flight by David from Jerusalem revived the hope in some that there would be a return to the house of Saul. Since Saul’s family was Benjamite, this was seen favorably by the northern tribes as opposed to Judah (which David was) and those allied with him from the south. David had unified the kingdom but there was the tension between the two areas.
Today’s Sermon:
Philippians 1:3-11 Partners in Joy
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Paul gives thanks for them based on his memories. He forgot any bad times and put the good memories to the forefront. This letter was the most personal of Paul’s letters, in that every time he thought of them he thanked God for them.

Scripture Reading:
Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew Him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. I John 3:1-2
