FREEDOM BAPTIST CHURCH - December 24, 2006

FREEDOM BAPTIST CHURCH

December 24, 2006

Church Items:

It is our hope and prayer that you have a blessed Christmas Day tomorrow and that you celebrate with us in worshiping the birth of Christ on this Christmas Eve.

Terry and Doris and the entire Tucker family thank the church for their kindness and generosity during their time of bereavement.

Christmas Quotes:

Jesus is “the One, the calling, before all answering love.” If we remember Him this Christmas season, we will respond with “hope, fear, and boundless desire” to worship Him. “Bland, insipid, and pedestrian worship” is to have no place when remembering the Messiah’s coming. (George McDonald)

In A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens told us the story of the miser Scrooge and his regrets at being shown his failures by the Ghost of Christmas Past. While Charles Dickens didn't explain salvation and forgiveness to us in his Christmas story, God clearly explains it in His. At Bethlehem, more than 2,000 years ago, a Savior was born who came into the world not to reform us, but to regenerate us; not to make us better, but to make us new; and not to shame us, but to save and sanctify us. The Bible's Christmas story is what separates Christianity from every other religion in the world. It is the story of God doing for man what man could never do for himself: remove the burden of past, present, and future sins. (David Jeremiah)
