FREEDOM BAPTIST CHURCH - June 15, 2008

FREEDOM BAPTIST CHURCH
June 15, 2008
Happy Father’s Day

The Freedom Baptist Church is an unaffiliated, independent Baptist church located in Colorado Springs, CO. The church’s pastor is Greg A. Chandler, a 1978 graduate of the Independent Baptist College in Dallas, TX (school now located in Fort Worth). Greg is a bi-vocational pastor who works full-time at another job while administering the church.

The church is primarily Baptist in doctrine and practice but independent in its function. We belong to no group or association of churches under any name. We enjoy fellowship with like-minded believers as we meet them in our community and around the world.

The purpose of this church is to meet together to honor and glorify God in fulfilling its Biblical mission of: worshiping God in Spirit and in truth; encouraging one another in genuine fellowship; teaching the Scriptures in depth; and sharing the gospel with people that the members of the church come in contact. We seek to fulfill our purpose with grace, relevance, and authenticity in full adherence to the principles of the Word of God.

Small churches can have an impact on the community and the world by living authentically in agreement with the infallible Word of God. It is our prayer that if the Lord directs your spiritual journey to come into contact with us that you will come to know the Lord in a deeper way because the Freedom Baptist Church was there. At the very least, we hope to do you no harm in your journey. Pastor Greg Chandler

Today’s Sunday School Lesson
The Book of Jude: Contending Earnestly for the Faith
Apostates of the Past, Verses 5-7
Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Today’s Sermon
Advice from Dad: Get Wisdom!
Proverbs 4, For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
